1.What is Gymnosperm ?
Gymnosperm are primitive seeds producing plant of sporophyte of spyrogerm.Gymnosperm are divides into two types angiosperm are divided into two types angiosperm seed are naked and closed with elvoid. In this groups of typical flowers.
2.General character of gymnosperm.
(a) Plants are sporophytes majority are woody pereninnal and everygreen trees, rarely shrubs.Sporophytes are much larger in size and independent tree roots stem and leaves present plants are always heteromorpous i.e there is differance in the nature types of spores in that one types produce a male gamethophyte and the other female gametophyte.
(b) Leaves are usually dimorphic i.e leaves are two types viz.
(i)Brown small scale leaves.
(ii) Green foliage leaves.
